Clarity II Laser Technology

Clarity II is an advanced dual-wavelength laser platform that combines 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd wavelengths within one system.

At The Skin Clinic @ Raintree Spa, we use Clarity II across several areas of our practice, including Laser Hair Removal, pigmentation treatments, vascular and redness treatments, and selected laser toning and skin rejuvenation protocols.

Having two wavelengths and highly adjustable treatment parameters allows our providers to select the appropriate approach based on your skin type, the concern being treated and the outcome we are trying to achieve.

Clarity II isn't a treatment in itself.

It is one of the advanced technologies we use to deliver several different treatments.

What Makes Clarity II Different?

Not all aesthetic lasers are the same.

Clarity II combines two established laser wavelengths within a single platform:

755 nm Alexandrite

The Alexandrite wavelength has a strong affinity for melanin, making it particularly useful for targeting unwanted hair and selected superficial pigmentation.

1064 nm Nd

The 1064 nm wavelength penetrates more deeply and can be used across a broader range of skin types. Depending on treatment parameters, it can target hair follicles, vascular structures and selected pigmentation while also being used within certain rejuvenation protocols.

The ability to choose between wavelengths, spot sizes, pulse durations and energy settings gives our providers considerable

flexibility when designing treatment.

IntelliTrak technology

Clarity II also incorporates IntelliTrak technology for consistent energy delivery during appropriate treatments and integrated cryogen cooling to protect the skin and improve comfort.

How We Use Clarity II at Raintree

The value of a versatile laser platform is not that every guest receives the same laser treatment.

It's that we can use different aspects of the technology for very different concerns.

Laser Hair Removal

Clarity II is the technology behind our professional Laser Hair Removal treatments.

Its 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd wavelengths allow us to select treatment parameters according to skin type, hair characteristics and treatment area.

This is particularly important because effective laser hair removal depends on the relationship between the laser wavelength, melanin within the hair follicle and the surrounding skin.

Clarity II also offers large treatment spot sizes, rapid energy delivery and integrated cooling, allowing larger areas to be treated efficiently while maintaining patient comfort.

We use it for areas including:

  • Face
  • Underarms
  • Bikini
  • Legs
  • Arms
  • Back
  • Chest
  • Neck and beard areas

Pigmentation Treatments

Brown spots and uneven pigmentation can develop from sun exposure, aging, hormonal influences and previous inflammation.

Certain forms of pigmentation can be treated by using laser energy that is preferentially absorbed by melanin.

Depending on the type and depth of pigmentation, Clarity II may be used to address concerns such as:

  • Sun spots
  • Age spots
  • Freckles
  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Selected benign pigmented lesions

The important distinction is that not all pigmentation should be treated the same way.

Melasma, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation and pigmentation in darker skin types require particularly careful assessment because inappropriate laser treatment can sometimes make pigmentation worse.

For that reason, we assess the type of pigmentation before deciding whether Clarity II, fractional resurfacing or another approach is appropriate.

Redness & Vascular Treatments

Clarity II can also be used to target selected vascular concerns.

Laser energy can be absorbed by haemoglobin within visible vessels, allowing controlled treatment of the vessel while minimizing unnecessary treatment of surrounding tissue.

Depending on the underlying cause and individual skin assessment, Clarity II may be considered for:

  • Facial redness
  • Visible blood vessels
  • Broken capillaries
  • Telangiectasia
  • Selected vascular lesions
  • Rosacea-associated visible vessels

Rosacea is a chronic inflammatory skin condition, however, and treating visible vessels does not eliminate the underlying condition.

Our approach is therefore to determine what is actually causing the redness before recommending laser treatment.

Laser Toning & Skin Rejuvenation

Clarity II can also be used with treatment parameters designed to improve overall skin clarity and support a more even-looking complexion.

At Raintree, these treatments may form part of a broader Skin Rejuvenation plan when concerns include pigmentation, redness, uneven tone or general loss of skin clarity.

Certain Nd protocols may also create controlled thermal stimulation within the skin, supporting collagen remodeling.

However, we don't position Clarity II as our only skin tightening technology.

If skin laxity and loss of structural firmness are the primary concerns, technologies specifically selected for Skin Tightening, including radiofrequency-based treatments, may be more appropriate.

One Device Doesn’t Mean One Treatment

This is one of the reasons we believe technology should support treatment planning rather than dictate it.

Two guests can be treated with the same Clarity II platform for completely different reasons.

One may be receiving laser hair removal.

Another may be treating a sun spot.

Another may be addressing visible facial vessels.

Another may be receiving a laser rejuvenation protocol.

The technology is the same.

The wavelength, energy, pulse duration, treatment technique and clinical objective can be very different.

That's why simply asking:

"Do you have Clarity II?"

is useful when you're researching the quality of technology a clinic uses, but it is only the beginning of the conversation.

The more important question is:

"Is this the right technology and treatment protocol for my skin?"

Why the Technology We Use Matters

Aesthetic treatments are increasingly available from a wide range of providers, and the equipment used can vary considerably.

At The Skin Clinic @ Raintree Spa, we deliberately invest in established professional aesthetic platforms from recognized medical-aesthetic technology manufacturers.

Clarity II is manufactured by Cynosure Lutronic, an established international medical aesthetic technology company.

For us, choosing an established platform matters because treatment isn't simply about producing laser energy.

It involves:

  • Controlled and reproducible energy delivery
  • Appropriate wavelength selection
  • Integrated safety features
  • Reliable cooling
  • Adjustable clinical parameters
  • Manufacturer training and protocols
  • Ongoing equipment support and servicing

A recognizable device name alone doesn't guarantee a good result.

But knowing what technology a clinic uses is a reasonable part of making an informed treatment decision.

Why Choose The Skin Clinic @ Raintree Spa

Technology matters.

So does the person using it.

Our approach begins with understanding your skin rather than deciding in advance which device you need.

We invest in established professional technologies because they give our providers sophisticated treatment options, but technology remains only one part of achieving a good outcome.

The right treatment depends on accurate assessment, appropriate patient selection, thoughtful treatment parameters and realistic expectations.

If Clarity II is the right technology for what you're trying to improve, we'll explain why.

If another treatment makes more sense, we'll explain that too.

Clarity II vs Other Laser Technologies

There isn't one laser that does everything best.

Different wavelengths interact with different targets within the skin.

That's why The Skin Clinic uses more than one advanced laser and energy-based technology.

Clarity II

A dual-wavelength Alexandrite and Nd platform particularly useful for laser hair removal, targeted pigmentation, vascular concerns and selected rejuvenation protocols.

LaseMD Ultra

A fractional 1927 nm thulium laser used primarily for Skin Resurfacing, broader pigmentation concerns, texture and skin renewal.

XERF

A multi-frequency monopolar radiofrequency system used primarily for deeper structural Skin Tightening rather than pigment, vessels or hair.

These technologies aren't interchangeable.

Having access to different technologies allows us to select the treatment according to what we're actually trying to change within the skin.

What Treatment Is Right for You?

If you found this page because you were specifically researching Clarity II, you're welcome to ask us about the technology during your consultation.

But you don't need to know which laser you need before coming to see us.

That's our job.

We begin by identifying the concern, assessing your skin and determining what type of treatment is most appropriate.

Depending on what you're hoping to improve, your treatment plan may include Clarity II or another technology within the clinic.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Clarity II?

Clarity II is a professional dual-wavelength laser platform combining 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd laser technology.

Different wavelengths and treatment parameters allow the platform to be used for different clinical applications.

What treatments do you perform with Clarity II?

At The Skin Clinic @ Raintree Spa, we use Clarity II for laser hair removal, selected pigmentation treatments, vascular and redness treatments, and certain laser toning and rejuvenation protocols.

The appropriate treatment depends on your skin type and the concern being treated.

Is Clarity II only a laser hair removal machine?

No.

Laser hair removal is one of Clarity II's major applications, but the dual-wavelength platform also has applications involving pigmentation, vascular concerns and selected skin rejuvenation treatments.

Is Clarity II safe for darker skin tones?

The 1064 nm Nd wavelength allows appropriately trained providers to treat a broader range of skin types than would be possible using Alexandrite alone.

That does not mean every setting or every treatment is appropriate for every skin tone.

Skin type, treatment indication and individual risk factors must still be assessed before treatment.

Does Clarity II hurt?

Treatment sensation varies according to the procedure, area and settings being used.

Clarity II incorporates cryogen cooling designed to cool and protect the skin during treatment and improve patient comfort.

Is Clarity II better than IPL?

They are different technologies.

IPL uses a broad spectrum of filtered light, while Clarity II uses specific laser wavelengths.

For some concerns, the precision of a laser wavelength is advantageous. For others, IPL may be appropriate.

We don't choose treatment based simply on which technology sounds more advanced. We choose according to the target within the skin and the individual being treated.

Is Clarity II the same as LaseMD Ultra?

No.

Clarity II uses 755 nm Alexandrite and 1064 nm Nd wavelengths and is particularly useful when we want to selectively target hair, pigment or vascular structures.

LaseMD Ultra is a 1927 nm fractional thulium laser designed to create microscopic treatment zones across the skin and is used primarily within our Skin Resurfacing treatments.

They serve different purposes and may sometimes complement one another within a broader treatment plan.

Can Clarity II tighten skin?

Certain laser protocols can create controlled thermal stimulation and support collagen remodeling.

However, if skin laxity is the primary concern, we may recommend a technology specifically selected for structural Skin Tightening instead.

Your consultation helps us distinguish between changes in skin tone and texture and genuine loss of firmness or structural support.
