IS HEALITE II RIGHT FOR YOU?

Healite II may be useful if you are looking to:

  • Support recovery following an advanced skin treatment
  • Calm temporary redness and inflammation
  • Support healing and skin recovery
  • Incorporate professional light therapy into your skin-maintenance program
  • Support an acne treatment plan
  • Improve overall skin health without downtime
  • Add a gentle treatment when your skin is not suited to something more aggressive

One of the strengths of Light Therapy is that it does not rely on creating additional injury within the skin.

Instead, carefully selected wavelengths of light interact with cellular processes, a mechanism generally known as photobiomodulation.

That makes Healite II useful both on its own and as a complementary treatment within a broader skin program.

WHAT MAKES HEALITE II DIFFERENT?

LED devices are widely available, from professional clinical systems to inexpensive home masks.

However, LED therapy is not simply about whether a device produces red, blue or near-infrared light.

The wavelength, energy delivery, treatment distance, coverage and consistency of light reaching the skin all influence how the treatment is delivered.

Healite II is a professional Low-Level Light Therapy system developed by Lutronic for clinical use.

One of its distinguishing technologies is Optical Lens Array Technology, or OLAT, which uses precisely arranged LEDs and optical lenses to concentrate and deliver light across the treatment area.

At Raintree, our Healite II configuration gives us two distinct treatment wavelengths:

830 nm near-infrared
and
415 nm blue light.

Each has a different role.

HOW HEALITE II WORKS

Healite II uses Low-Level Light Therapy (LLLT), also known as photobiomodulation, to influence cellular activity without heating or damaging the skin.

Unlike a laser resurfacing treatment, Healite II does not intentionally create controlled injury.

Instead, specific wavelengths of light penetrate to different depths and interact with biological processes within the tissue.

The response depends partly on the wavelength being used.

This distinction is important because 415 nm blue light and 830 nm near-infrared light do different jobs.

830 nm: Recovery, Healing & Photobiomodulation

830 nm is the core photobiomodulation wavelength in our Healite II system.

Because near-infrared light penetrates more deeply than visible blue light, it can interact with tissue below the skin's surface.

Lutronic describes its 830 nm technology as supporting dermal cellular activity, microcirculation, healing and recovery. It is also used to help reduce erythema and edema following aesthetic treatments.

At Raintree, this makes 830 nm particularly useful:

  • Following laser treatments
  • Following skin resurfacing
  • Following microneedling
  • When temporary redness or inflammation is present
  • As part of a skin-recovery protocol
  • As a gentle standalone Light Therapy treatment

One of its greatest strengths is therefore not that it replaces corrective treatments.

It can help support the skin while those treatments do their work.

415 nm: Acne-Focused Light Therapy

Our Healite II also includes 415 nm blue light, giving us an additional application for acne-prone skin.

Blue light at approximately 415 nm interacts with porphyrins produced by Cutibacterium acnes, the bacteria associated with inflammatory acne. This photochemical interaction can help reduce acne-associated bacterial activity.

At Raintree, we may incorporate 415 nm Light Therapy into a broader acne-management plan when inflammatory breakouts are present.

However, acne is rarely just a bacterial problem.

Congestion, oil production, inflammation, hormones, skincare and post-inflammatory pigmentation may all influence what we see on the skin.

For that reason, we do not position blue LED as a cure for acne. We use it as one treatment tool within a more complete approach.

STANDALONE OR PART OF ANOTHER TREATMENT?

One of the reasons we chose Healite II is its versatility.

As a Standalone Treatment

Light Therapy can be used when the objective is to support skin recovery, calm the skin or maintain skin health without creating downtime.

A typical Healite II session lasts approximately 10 to 20 minutes, and there is no downtime from the Light Therapy itself.

Following Advanced Treatments

We may also recommend Healite II after procedures that intentionally create a controlled response within the skin.

Depending on your treatment plan, this may include:

  • Skin Resurfacing
  • Microneedling
  • Laser Skin Rejuvenation
  • Selected pigmentation or vascular treatments

In these circumstances, Healite II isn't replacing the corrective treatment.

It is supporting the recovery process that follows it.

WHY WE CHOSE HEALITE II

There are now hundreds of LED products available, including inexpensive consumer masks.

So why invest in a professional Healite II system?

Because when we incorporate light therapy into a professional skin-treatment protocol, we want more than LEDs that happen to illuminate at approximately the right colour.

Healite II gives us:

  • Defined treatment wavelengths
  • Professional Low-Level Light Therapy delivery
  • Optical Lens Array Technology
  • Consistent treatment coverage
  • Hands-free clinical treatment
  • Dedicated treatment protocols
  • The ability to integrate Light Therapy with advanced aesthetic procedures
  • Technology from an established medical-aesthetic manufacturer

Healite II is manufactured by Lutronic, now part of Cynosure Lutronic, an established international medical-aesthetic technology company. The manufacturer also maintains clinical literature specifically concerning Healite II and LED phototherapy.

For us, that matters.

Light Therapy may look simple from the outside, but when we use it as part of a professional treatment plan, we want to know what wavelength we're delivering and why we're using it.

Healite II vs Home LED Devices

Home LED masks can be useful for regular maintenance, and we don't believe professional and home light therapy need to compete with one another.

They serve different purposes.

A home device offers the convenience of frequent use and can be a valuable part of a long-term skincare routine when the device has appropriate specifications.

Healite II is a professional clinical system designed to provide controlled treatment using specific wavelengths and optical technology across the treatment area.

That makes it particularly valuable when Light Therapy is being used:

  • Immediately following another clinical treatment
  • As part of a structured treatment protocol
  • When professional assessment is appropriate
  • When we want controlled treatment delivery within the clinic

For some guests, professional Healite II treatment is all they need.

For others, combining periodic professional treatment with a well-selected home device may make sense.

The important distinction isn't simply professional versus home.

It's knowing the wavelength, quality and purpose of the device you're using.

Why the Skin Clinic @ Raintree Spa?

Light Therapy is gentle, but that doesn't mean it should be used without purpose.

At The Skin Clinic, we begin by understanding what is happening in your skin and what we're trying to accomplish.

Sometimes Healite II makes sense as a standalone treatment.

Sometimes its greatest value is supporting recovery following laser, resurfacing or microneedling.

And sometimes another treatment is more appropriate because Light Therapy alone will not create the degree of correction you're looking for.

If we don't believe Light Therapy is the right treatment for your skin, we'll tell you.

What to Expect During Healite II Light Therapy

Healite II is one of the easiest treatments to incorporate into a busy schedule.

You'll relax beneath the LED treatment panel while the appropriate wavelength and protocol are delivered.

The treatment is hands-free and does not create heat injury within the skin.

A typical session lasts approximately 10 to 20 minutes. Many guests find the experience relaxing.

After Treatment

There is no downtime from standalone Healite II treatment.

You can return to normal activities immediately.

If Healite II has been added following another procedure, any redness, dryness or downtime you experience will relate primarily to that treatment rather than the LED therapy itself.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS?

There isn't one universal Light Therapy protocol.

The number and frequency of treatments depend on why we're using Healite II.

Someone receiving it immediately after another procedure may only need it as part of that treatment.

Someone using Light Therapy for recovery, acne support or ongoing skin maintenance may benefit from a series of treatments.

We'll recommend frequency based on what we're actually trying to accomplish rather than selling a predetermined number of LED sessions.

No.

Healite II does not intentionally heat or injure the skin. Most guests find the treatment comfortable and relaxing.

Is there downtime?

No downtime is required from standalone Healite II Light Therapy.

If we use Healite II following another treatment, that procedure may have its own recovery period.

Can I have Healite II after laser or microneedling?

Yes. This is one of the important ways we use Healite II.

Its 830 nm near-infrared protocol can be incorporated following selected aesthetic procedures to support skin recovery.

Is Healite II the same as red light therapy?

Not exactly.

"Red light therapy" has become a broad consumer term for several forms of LED and photobiomodulation treatment.

Our Healite II does not contain the 633 nm visible red-light head available with some Healite II configurations.

Our system uses 830 nm near-infrared and 415 nm blue light.

830 nm is invisible near-infrared light and is the wavelength we primarily use for photobiomodulation, healing and recovery.
