What to Expect

Before your treatment
You'll shave the area being treated, but avoid waxing, plucking or threading. We'll assess your skin and hair and confirm the beard line and treatment area with you.

During treatment
Laser energy is delivered across the unwanted hair below and around the beard line. Clarity II's integrated cooling helps protect the skin and improve comfort during treatment. You can be in and out in about 15 minutes.

After treatment
Temporary redness or warmth can occur and generally settles quickly. We'll give you straightforward aftercare and sun-exposure instructions before you leave.

Over your series
Hair grows in cycles, which is why laser hair removal requires multiple treatments. As your series progresses, the goal is progressively less growth, finer hair and less hair to manage between appointments.

Will laser remove my actual beard?

Only the hair within the area we intentionally treat. Before beginning, we'll establish the beard line you want to maintain and the unwanted hair you would like reduced.

Can laser help with razor bumps and ingrown hairs?

Reducing the amount of hair repeatedly growing through and being shaved at the skin can help reduce shaving-related irritation, razor bumps and recurring ingrown hairs.

How many treatments will I need?

We've structured the men's neck series around six treatments because hair grows in different cycles and cannot all be effectively targeted in a single appointment. Individual response varies, and some clients may benefit from additional or occasional maintenance treatments.

Does it hurt?

Most clients tolerate treatment well. Sensation varies by individual, but Clarity II uses integrated cooling to help protect the skin and improve comfort during treatment.

Can you treat darker skin tones?

Clarity II is a dual-wavelength platform that includes a 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser, an important option when treating darker skin types. Your provider will assess your skin and hair and select appropriate treatment parameters for you.

Does laser work on every hair colour?

Laser requires sufficient pigment within the hair to effectively target it. Grey and white hair generally cannot be effectively treated, while very light blond and some red hair may also respond poorly.

Do I need to grow the hair before my appointment?

No. The area should be shaved before treatment. Avoid waxing, plucking or threading because the follicle needs to remain present for laser treatment.
