What is Dermaplaning?
Dermaplaning is an advanced exfoliation technique that utilizes precise, practiced strokes of a medical instrument to gently lift dull skin cells and fine, vellus hair, commonly known as “peach fuzz.” Causing no superficial irritation, dermaplaning is an effective exfoliation alternative to microdermabrasion or chemical peels especially for sensitive skin types. What can you expect?
Dermaplaning will not cause fine, vellus hair to grow back thicker or darker; in fact, dermaplaning simply trims vellus hair, or “peach fuzz,” from the skin’s surface, keeping hair follicles intact. Over time, and with continued dermaplaning treatments, vellus hair appears even finer. Immediately following your dermaplaning treatment, patients can return to their regular activities and enjoy instantly smoother skin.
Application of skincare products in the days that follow no longer have to find a way to penetrate through the dead skin cells on the upper layer of skin, giving you better performance with less product. As the fine hairs return and the skin begins to turn over, most will notice changes in about 3 weeks post treatment. Scheduling monthly keeps skin looking and feeling its healthiest.
First treatment includes a double cleanse to ensure a pristine surface, a full face of dermaplaning followed by a treatment mask to infuse skin renewing ingredients.
